Born 1966, Carsten is a Bremen University graduate in electrical
engineering (doctorate in the field of multi-robot collision avoidance).
He started in Intellectual Property in 1995 with eight years in the
patent department of Siemens AG where he was primarily concerned with
automation technology devices and the relevant software applications.
He was admitted as European Patent Attorney and German Patent Attorney
in 2001 and 2002, respectively. Thereafter he joined a Scots-based firm
of patent and trade mark attorneys with over 200 staff across Europe for
over seven years. After being appointed director he was responsible for
the firm’s German activities. In 2011 he became partner and co-founder
of WTB Patent.
Dr. ten Brink focuses his practice on drafting, prosecuting, preparing opinions on and litigating patents and utility models, in particular in the fields automation and production engineering (CAD, CAE, CIM), programmable logic controllers (PLC), computerised numerical controls (CNC), production planning and control, system engineering, sensors and switching devices; control and feedback control systems; computers (HW/SW), expert and knowledge based systems, information and communication technology (ICT), multimedia and telecommunications, robotics.
